Top Tips for Wedding Furniture Hire

Published on 27th Aug 2018

Top Tips for Wedding Furniture Hire Over the years we’ve assisted with literally hundreds of wedding set ups. From large scale marquee weddings, small private weddings at home, glitzy formal dinners and cocktail ceremonies on the beach – we’ve literally seen it all!

We’ve had first-hand experience with all the last-minute dramas, bad weather forgotten items, and other unpredictable situations that can pop up on your wedding day.

It's vital that you bear in mind both the aesthetic and functional elements – so in this blog we’ll guide you through hiring furniture for your wedding to ensure your day runs without a glitch. Simply keep the below tips in mind to avoid any last-minute chaos while creating a gorgeously styled wedding celebration. Here’s what to do:

Choose your style

It’s easy to get swept away in choosing beautiful wedding furniture and decor without first having the overall style in mind. To create a well-rounded appearance, think about the look and feel you want to create, then hand pick furniture to match your vision.

Whether retro, romantic, tropical, or pure elegance - find pieces that complement your style, while bearing in mind practicality. Need some inspirations? Have a look at our Pinterest and Instagram pages to get the creative juices flowing. After doing your research, it’ll be easier to identify the kind of colour scheme and furniture styles that fit your vision.

Book your big ticket furniture pronto!

Wedding season gets extremely busy so we strongly suggest booking your key furniture pieces to avoid disappointment. Items like tables and chairs, cocktail furniture, lounge packages and statement pieces like dance floors or drinks stations. You can add your smaller items like linen, centrepieces and décor as your plans develop.

The most popular dates for weddings in South Africa are peak seasons June, August, September and October ,while our deep winter months January, February and March are the least popular. If you’ve chosen a busy wedding date, book your key pieces as early as possible - between 10 - 12 before you say I do.
